I love making lists, and I’m an avid grocery list maker. Unfortunately, I’m not so great at keeping track of my lists. They’re usually scribbled on post-its and scrap paper in locations all over my house, car, and office. And even if I happen to have one concise list, I often leave it sitting on the kitchen counter while I tromp off to the store (facepalm). And don’t even get me started on losing the list once I get to the store. I almost never make it the whole way through a shopping trip without accidentally leaving my list on a shelf or letting it slip through the cracks of the cart, never to be seen again.
If any of you are like me (oh please, I hope I’m not the only one!), you’re going to love ZipList. ZipList is a meal planner, grocery list maker, and recipe saver all in one. I know many of you plan your meals based on recipes you find on the web. ZipList allows you to save recipes from many of your favorite sites to one recipe box. From there, it can sort your recipes based on ingredients or prep time, help you plan your meals for the month, AND create a shopping list based on the recipes of your choice. Oh, and did I mention that the shopping list is accessible on your phone…and sorted by location in the store…and able to be shared with friends and family?
Yeah, it’s pretty cool.
If you don’t already have a ZipList account, here’s how you can get started.
Let’s say you really want to make those Pina Colada Cupcakes (I approve). If you scroll down to the recipe area of my posts, you’ll see a little “Save” button next to the print option. Click on save.
If you don’t have an account yet, it’ll prompt you to enter your information.
If you already have an account, it’ll ask you whether you want to add this recipe to your recipe box or add it to your grocery list.
Once you click add, the recipe will be available to you in your recipe box on ZipList, but also on EVERY OTHER SITE with ZipList.
See that little Recipe Box tab at the top of Neighborfood? You were probably wondering what the heck that was. If you click on that tab, you can access your ZipList recipe box right here on my site. It’ll show all the recipes you’ve saved, including those from other sites. Pretty cool, huh?
As you save recipes, you’ll be able to add them to your monthly calendar by clicking “plan,” or add them to your list by clicking “list.” It’s a super efficient way to plan, track, and organize your menu and groceries!
To find out more, visit ZipList’s website where you can start an account and even grab a ZipList button you can add to your toolbar so you can clip recipes for your recipe box from around the web!
Interested in visiting some other sites that are ZipList enabled? I’ve included a few of my favorites below. Trust me, if you check out these sites, you’ll have enough recipes to carry you through the rest of the year!
Here’s to getting organized, planning great meals for our families, and never losing the list again!
