S’more Cake Pops (Guest Post for Wallflour Girl)

These S’more Cake Pops made with marshmallow creme, dipped in chocolate, and rolled in crushed grahams are the ultimate bite sized snack.

S'More Cake Pops- everyone's favorite summer dessert on a stick!

These days, I hear a lot of people lamenting about how technology is destroying authentic relationships. And I’m one of those people. We’re hyper-connected to thousands of people through social media, yet have very few close friendships. Far too often I equate reading a friend’s Facebook status update with “catching up” or let a brief comment on their recent vacation photo replace an actual conversation about how their life is right now.

There’s a lot to bemoan about technology’s effect on relationships, but at the same time, I can’t deny that it’s opened up so many opportunities for relationships I never could have had otherwise.

Take my friend Ala for instance. Ala blogs over at Wallflour Girl (how clever is that name by the way?) I was introduced to her blog just a few months ago through our mutual friend, Nancy of Gotta Get Baked. What is this crazy world we live in that allows me to befriend someone through another friend I have actually never met in person?

S'more Cake Pops- now you can carry your s'mores around on a stick!

It’s friendships like these that make me grateful for this wide open crazy town we call the Internet. From the moment I discovered Ala’s blog I knew I was going to love this girl. She is thoughtful and witty and has a contagiously positive outlook on life. One of my favorite posts of hers was (ironically) this guest post on Nancy’s site where she introduced us to her Wall of Smiles, her daily collection of post-its chronicling one thing that makes her smile each day. How freaking cool is that?

I find with Ala’s blog you come for the recipes (hello Crunchy Cookie Butter Espresso Granola), and stay for the stories. I promise you’ll be drawn in by this girl’s warm, funny, whimsical stories.

Today, I have the privilege of sharing these crazy delicious S’more Cake Pops on Ala’s site. As far as cake pops go, they are the easiest and most irresistible I’ve ever made. Be sure to head over to the post to get the recipe and spend some time exploring!

  1. Isn’t technology horrible and amazing at the same time? I met Ala in real life only a month after we started talking to each other on the internet and I’m so glad I was able to bring the two of you together. And Courtney – I’m so happy I got to meet you in real life this past weekend. You are just as amazing as I knew you would be. I miss you lots! Heading over to Ala’s to read this post (I need a dozen of these S’mores cake pops right now).

    1. Horrible and amazing indeed! But after this weekend I feel even more grateful for the Internet. I’m so glad we got to meet online and even more glad we got to meet in person. Hopefully we get to see each other again sooner rather than later, but I guess we can use crazy town Internet as a stand in until then. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. It is crazy how we become fairly close friends with all these people we’ve never met! Sometimes I feel like all of you know more of what’s going on in my life than my real life friends! I am fiending for these cake pops. Off to check out the recipe!

  3. Thanks so much for writing this and sharing such a fabulous recipe, Courtney–it’s awesome to have you! Extra shout-out for the first recipe I’m going to make once things get less busy around here ๐Ÿ™‚
