Chewy Spiced Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce

This Spiced Apple Cake is dotted with chewy bits of dried fruit and nuts and drizzled with salty bourbon caramel sauce. It’s perfect for Fall and would be lovely on your Thanksgiving table!

INGREDIENTS

For the cake

Bourbon

Golden raisins

Dried apple slices

Unsalted butter

All purpose flour

Baking soda

Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

In a small bowl, combine bourbon and raisins. Let soak for 30 minutes, add apple slices, then soak for another 15 minutes.

STEP 1

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 in baking pan or 2 9 in round cake pans then line with parchment paper. Grease the parchment lightly with butter.
