Pho Bo (Vietnamese Beef and Noodle Soup)

This Easy Pho Bo (or Beef Noodle Soup) packs all the flavor punch of a traditional pho in a fraction of the time.

The broth is light and flavorful. It hits on all the major taste senses–sweet, sour, and savory with a great bite from the spices and fresh ginger.

INGREDIENTS

Beef stock

Onion

Hoisin sauce

Fish sauce

Dry rice stick noodles

Grated fresh ginger

INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1 Prepare rice noodles according to package directions. 

STEP 2 For the soup, place beef stock, onion, hoisin sauce, fish sauce, ginger, pepper, and five spice powder in a large stockpot. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.

STEP 3 Slice your steaks as thinly as possible across the grain.
