5 Fun Ice Cream Float Ideas for Your Next Party

Ingredients
 

Ice Cream Flavors:

  • Cookies and Cream
  • Mudslide
  • Strawberry
  • Vanilla Bean

For the beverages:

  • Sweet Iced Tea
  • Italian Sparkling Lemonade
  • Iced Coffee (recipe below)

For the iced coffee:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 6 cups brewed coffee (chilled overnight)

For the mix ins:

  • Half and Half or Cream
  • 1 lb strawberries (quartered)
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
  • Crumbled chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 recipe hot fudge sauce (substitute 1 vanilla bean for the peppermint)

Instructions

  • To make the iced coffee, combine the sugar and water in a small pan and bring to a boil, stirring until well combined. Turn off the heat and allow to cool completely. Add the simple syrup to the chilled coffee to taste. I prefer about 3 Tablespoons for every cup of coffee which will use almost all of the simple syrup.
  • In a bowl, combine the strawberries with the 2 Tablespoons of sugar and mash with a pastry blender or potato masher.
  • To serve, combine your favorite beverages and mix ins with 2-3 cups ice cream. Here are a few favorites.
  • For The Arnold Palmer, combine two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream with equal parts sparkling lemonade and sweet tea.
  • For The Strawberry Lemonade, combine two scoops of strawberry ice cream with 3 Tablespoons smashed strawberries and sparkling lemonade.
  • For The Cookies and Cream, whisk together 3 Tablespoons cream with 3 Tablespoons of fudge sauce and a splash of club soda at the bottom of the glass. Top with two scoops of cookies and cream ice cream, crumbled cookies, and additional cream (or milk) and club soda.
  • For The Mocha, whisk together 2 Tablespoons cream and 3 Tablespoons of fudge at the bottom of the glass. Top with two scoops of mudslide ice cream, cookies, and iced coffee. Add additional fudge sauce and a splash of club soda to to the top, if desired.
  • For the Affogato, combine two scoops vanilla ice cream with the iced coffee. Top with fudge sauce and soda if desired.

Notes

  • Nutrition is for a float with 2 cups vanilla ice cream with 6 cups coffee.
