Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Wings

The air fryer makes super crispy wings in less than half the time of the oven! This garlic Parmesan version is so flavorful and always a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 1/2 lb chicken wings (mixture of drums and wings)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  • Pat the wings dry with a paper towel, then place them in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle with the baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix together until the chicken wings are covered.
  • Spray the air fryer with propellant free non-stick spray or brush with olive oil. Add the wings in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to fry in multiple batches.
  • Air fry at 390 or 400 degrees (whatever setting is highest for your air fryer) for 8-9 minutes per side, or a total of 16-18 minutes.
  • While the chicken wings are cooking, make the sauce. In a saucepan, combine the butter and garlic. Cook on medium-high heat for 1 to 2 minutes, until the butter is melted and garlic has turned light brown.
  • Take the chicken wings out of the air fryer and transfer them to a mixing bowl. Pour the butter mixture over the chicken wings and mix together.
  • Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the chicken wings and add them back to the air fryer. Cook for another 2 minutes to crisp the cheese, then remove the wings, sprinkle with parsley (if desired) and serve.

Notes

  • Baking soda is a neat trick, it keeps things crispy!
