Make these refreshing, lightly sweetened Iced Matcha Lattes at home for an instant pick me up! The bright green color and creamy, smooth matcha flavor is irresistible.
Sift the matcha powder through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl. Add 1/4 cup warm water and use a matcha whisk to combine with the up and down "M" motion until smooth and slightly frothy.
Sweeten your milk to taste. Fill a tall glass 2/3 of the way full with ice, then pour the milk over top.
Pour the matcha mixture over the milk, then stir with a straw to combine. Enjoy.
Notes
If you don't have a sifter or bamboo whisk, just combine the matcha and water in a tightly sealed jar and shake vigorously until well combined.Note 1: Look for matcha powder that is sourced from Japan, is very bright green, and costs around $20-30 for a 1.5-2.5 ounce package. We recommend Ippodo's Ikuyo matcha.Note 2: You can use dairy or non-dairy milk for matcha lattes. I prefer unsweetened oat milk, almond milk, or coconut milk for iced matcha.Note 3: Honey and cane sugar can be difficult to incorporate into cold drinks. I recommend using a liquid sweetener like maple syrup, simple syrup, or a homemade syrup like vanilla syrup or lavendar syrup.
