A Lovely Menu for Easter Sunday

I have always considered Christmas my favorite holiday, but with each year that passes I find myself developing a deeper appreciation for the Easter season. After a long, cold winter, the miracle of Easter is balm for a weary soul. It is the heralding of new life, the hope of resurrection, the joy of new buds bursting forth out of frozen ground. It is a hope I cling to during the long winters of life, when I can’t quite see how something green and good can grow out of all the brokenness of our lives. We serve a God who is well acquainted with suffering but who also redeems, restores, and makes new.

This week, my friends and I have pulled together some of our favorite Easter recipes for an absolutely lovely menu. This is certainly a feast worthy of a celebration! But if celebration isn’t quite the season of life you’re in, and the ham and potatoes don’t taste as good as they used to, that’s okay too. Jesus is here for all of it–the suffering and the joy, the brokenness and the resurrection. Whatever season you find yourself in this Easter, I pray you find a seed of hope in the one who conquered the grave.
