After nearly ten years of blogging and 30+ years of being a human on planet earth, I’ve tried A LOT of different Thanksgiving recipes. From standards like turkey and mashed potatoes to more unique takes on the classics, we’ve sampled hundreds of recipes. Some have been great successes, while others, well, let’s just say we’ll let them die a slow death in the graveyard of mediocre food.
Over the years, I’ve realized I’m mostly a traditionalist when it comes to the Thanksgiving menu. I like all of the classics to be present, with a few interesting twists thrown into the mix. Below, I’ve included my ultimate collection of Thanksgiving recipes: the ones that, if I had my druthers, would be included on my table every year.
These are the stand-outs, the ones that have earned their spot amidst a sea of other holiday recipes.
To make the menu more helpful for you, I’ve included symbols with each recipe indicating whether they are Make Ahead Friendly (MA), Gluten Free (GF), or Vegetarian (V). I hope you enjoy perusing our favorites, and feel free to share your own in the comments! I’m always looking for the next great recipe that will earn a spot on the list!
I'll (somewhat embarrassingly) admit that my favorite Thanksgiving dressing/stuffing is really just Stove Top stuffing from the store box... BUT if you need something a little more homemade, try this:
Yes, I've included 3 potato side dishes. Yes, they're all necessary.
THE VEGETABLE SIDE DISHES
THE PASTA SIDE DISH
Because there are not enough carbs in this meal yet, clearly.
THE FRUITY SIDE DISH
Pregaming the biggest meal of the year? I am definitely here for that!
Aw yeah. This is the good stuff.
