These simple, 3 Ingredient Creamsicle Ice Cream Floats are my favorite way to cool down on a hot summer day!
Over the past 8ish months, I’ve learned there are only 3 things you should say to a pregnant woman.
1. You’re beautiful.
2. You’re totally going to rock this parenting thing.
3. Having a baby is the most wonderful, amazing, thrilling experience of your life.
All other comments should be reserved for those in a more stable emotional state. I promise I will listen to your truly horrifying labor story in just a few months, but right now, I’m going to need you to stop right at “barely made it to the hospital.” And all that talk of never sleeping or going on a date again is kinda depressing, guys. I know this will be an utterly life changing event, with struggles and challenges like any other, but please, save all the stories of your child’s sleep regression and colic and terrible gas for when we have a baby with his own list of challenges we can commiserate over.
Instead, when you encounter a pregnant woman, stick to the script above and then hand her a Creamsicle Float. She may still cry, but it’ll be the good kind of tears.
When Ohio’s doling out it’s hottest, muggiest days, I crave nothing but ice cream floats. I would eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I didn’t have another human inside me for which I feel some sense of nutritional responsibility. My family has been making these 3 Ingredient Creamsicle Floats for years, and they have totally been hitting the spot this summer.
Ice cream. Orange Juice. 7 Up. That’s it. And it’s glorious. Refreshing, cool, creamy, bubbly. You can customize it to be more orangey or more creamy. You can use Sprite instead of 7-Up or choose a super pulpy orange juice (my favorite) to coat the ice cream. You can do whatever the heck you want. Just make these floats…and save the parental stories of doom for someone not currently gestating a human.
